The USDA defines organic meat as meat raised for human consumption without additives and minimally processed. The demand for organic meat is acting as a restraint for synthetic amino acids. Over the past 5 year, some organic certifying organizations such as organic prairie no longer allow the use of synthetic amino acids in the feed producing organic meat and animal by-products.
